What's Up With WhatsApp (Issue 69) by Tiamari

If you have ever made extensive use of WhatsApp Messenger, you will know how frustrating it can be to type on a tiny handset! This is especially true if your communication is business related and needs to be of a high standard.

I have found 2 solutions to be really helpful:

Send and receive WhatsApp messages right from your computer!

A fairly new innovation (announced on 21 January 2015) is WhatsApp Web. It is an extension of your phone, meaning it mirrors conversations on your phone, enabling you to type messages on your computer instead of your handset.

It also makes it extremely easy to copy or search conversations.

All major desktop browsers are supported except for Microsoft Internet Explorer.

A few things to keep in mind:

        • All your conversations still “live” on your phone, so your handset must stay connected to the Internet for the browser application to function.
        • Conversations are mirrored, so anything deleted on the browser app will also be deleted on the phone, and visa versa.
        • Your phone data (or phone Wifi connection) will be used, irrespective of what connection your browser is using.
        • When changing to the Desktop App which can be downloaded, you would need to log out of any open Browser Apps.

I have also found an external Bluetooth keyboard very useful. It connects with your handset automatically and allows for much easier typing.
